I’m finishing my cappuccino with two sugars, staring lovingly at my new candle from diptyque, with my french pedicured feet (I’m late to the style and obssessed) propped up on my loveseat coach. Pilates mat and light dumbells in front of me, awaiting me. Awaiting me calmly, not calling me and demanding of me energy and time that I do not have. This is the shift.
Introducing, letters from a former rigid health nut.
I used to be absolutely, obsessed. Obsessed with exercise, counting every calorie. I used to over exercise, binge, restrict, do it all again. The number on the scale made no difference to me in my perplexed dissatisfaction with my body and efforts.
Sugar in my coffee with MILK was unheard of. Only black coffee for the RHN.
On the outside I looked like I had it all together, I was in shape. I appeared to have a fitness routine while eating “whatever I wanted.” But I had some deep, serious, issues. I would cope with the stresses of life and basically every uncomfortable and negative emotion, with either working out like a maniac or binging and restricting heavily with food. I stayed in this pattern for years. It would come and go. But when it came, it overstayed. I felt helpless to this behavior and it was an obsession.
Can you be obsessed with being “healthy?”
Yes. Or the ideal behind whatever it is you consider healthy…
You can take something that’s meant for your good and wellbeing and repurpose it into a form of self-punishment if you’re not careful.
My morning today reminded me of how much more peace I experience now that I disowned that demanding and callous sense of rigidity that previously had taken over my “health and wellness.” What I experience now is true wellness. My lifestyle and internal sentiment agrees with my external choices. Alignment.
I didn’t need to “do more.” I needed less…
Less control. Less obsession. Less fear. Less rigidity.
One of the major telling signs of health, vitality, and youth, is a sense of flexibility. Not only within your body, but within your mind. The openness of seeing things in a new way. Changing perspectives.
You can't access your flow state if your body is locked.
And I don’t just mean your joints. I mean your relationship with time, with food, with movement, with your own expectations.
What I feel now is space.
A softness. A quieter nervous system that no longer panics over a rest day or a missed salad. A sense of ownership over my choices instead of guilt.
My wellness doesn’t scream anymore, it holds me.
And it expands as I do.
This is what I help my clients create inside my 90-day body transformation coaching.
We don’t just fix the surface. We redesign the blueprint.
If you’re craving a more integrated version of health, one that restores your body without draining your spirit, let’s start with an initial consultation.
In that session, we’ll assess where you are right now in your relationship with food, fitness, and your overall well-being. We’ll identify the patterns you’re ready to release, and map out what sustainable, flexible wellness looks like for you.
You don’t need another rule.
You need a rhythm that actually fits your life.
Writing to you, from that rhythm.
